To celebrate culturepool’s fifth birthday we’re having a bash at the Above the Beaten Track : Honky Tonk festival on Saturday 27th August, 1pm.
Above the Beaten Track is a festival for the creative grass roots scene of Liverpool, returning in 2011 with more than a nod to honky tonk. It’s an opportunity for live music, DJs, performance art, poetry and audio-visual spectaculars to come together at the Bluecoat.
The philosophy of the festival fits with culturepool’s ethos as its all about inclusion, not only giving a platform for the hardworking musicians of our city but offering friends and partners (Mellowtone, Beaten Tracks, Liverpool Acoustic, Lazy Genius, See the Sound and Draw the Line) a hand in running the festival.
culturepool will be returning once again to add the birthday festivities to the festival… 2011 marks our 5th birthday and we’ll be celebrating with our own stage in The Bluecoat garden!!
Playing live on on the culturepool stage from 1pm are:
Singer/Songwriter/Poet and culturepool regular Tom George kicks off the set.
Andy Steele is joined by pianist Jez Wing, who played the culturepool stage last year, and Helen Mayer on the accordian
